What is Ginkgo Biloba

An interesting note is that the Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is one of the oldest living tree species alive today. It can live up to 1,000 years and grow to a height of approximately 120 feet. Ginkgo biloba extract is derived from the leaves of the ginkgo tree which contain  the antioxidants known as flavanoids and terpenoids.  These antioxidants destroy damage causing free radicals.  These free radicals are responsible for altering  cell membranes, DNA, and destroying otherwise healthy cell tissue. Free radicals come from our own bodies metabolizm, but are mainly caused from toxins and UV radiation.

Peppermint PlantPeppermint and other mints are among the healthiest herbs that you can include in your diet. What if your body doesn't react well to ingesting mint-flavored foods and beverages? Before you say no to mints forever, I encourage you to consider that some mint-flavored products (especially candies, chocolates, and low quality teas) use synthetic menthol to create mint flavor and scent.

Synthetic menthol is created by using a crystallization process that generates contaminants, and these contaminants can affect the scent and quality of synthetic menthol.

My experience has been that the majority of people who think that they can't ingest mint actually have trouble tolerating synthetic menthol. Ingesting peppermint and other natural mints rarely results in health challenges.

An all-important component in various dishes around the world, onion has become the second most important horticulture crop after tomato. This pink, white orred, paper-thin skinned bulb is packed with a pungent flavor and lots of nutrients and phytochemicals.

a) Regular consumption of onions has also been associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer. It's believed that the flavonoid quercetin in onions is the protective factor as it's been shown to stop the growth of tumors in animals, and to protect colon cells from the negative effects of some cancer-promoting substances. There's also evidence that onions may lower the risk of cancer of the brain, oesophagus, lung and stomach.
